5 Highlights From CHEST 2018

December 12, 2018 by Vanessa Claude

1. Therapy Dogs

For those who were on-site at CHEST 2018, we hope you got a chance to hang out with the dogs from Therapy Dogs of San Antonio in the Experience CHEST booth. The adorable pups visited the booth during lunch hours the first 2 days the CHEST Exhibit Hall was open. Of course, they were a hit. And why not? How could you say no to these faces?

2. Guacamole Station

Not only were there therapy dogs in Experience CHEST, we also had fresh guacamole being made right in the booth. We couldn’t think of a better way to give everyone a taste of Tex-Mex.

3. NetWork Presentations in Experience CHEST

During the CHEST Annual Meeting, each CHEST NetWork has the opportunity to present research or findings to their peers in the Experience CHEST booth in the Exhibit Hall. CHEST 2018 had one of the highest rates of attendance for these presentations, so much so that some weren’t available to find a seat. We also streamed most of these presentations to our official CHEST Facebook page, amounting to over 72,000 views! If you haven’t checked those out yet, search “chest2018” within CHEST’s Facebook videos to see all that was streamed during the meeting.

4. CHEST Foundation Events

There were five events and receptions that the CHEST Foundation hosted during the annual meeting: the CHEST Foundation Reception, Young Professionals Reception, Breakfast of Champions, Women & Pulmonary Luncheon, and President’s Reception. Each event had a great turnout, and we hope you’ll find time to join us at one of them next year in New Orleans for CHEST 2019.

5. Dollars for Denim Day/CHEST Foundation Dip Jars

Dollars for Denim Day was on Monday, October 8, in which attendees were encouraged to show their support for the CHEST Foundation by wearing denim and making a donation in the Donor Lounge during the annual meeting.

We hope you’ll join us next year for CHEST 2019 in New Orleans, LA, to see what other great things we’ll have in store!
