The CHEST Foundation is excited to host the Lung Health Experience at this year’s CHEST 2017 Annual Meeting. The Lung Health Experience is a travelling community service program designed to connect the public with local lung health experts, so they can begin a conversation in a casual, fun environment about the importance of lung health. In addition to having clinicians and experts on hand to perform free spirometry testing, attendees are invited to explore our virtual patient tour – a display that simulates the experience of someone affected by diseases like COPD and asthma to help educate the public on these disease states. Our patient advocacy partners will also be at the event to deliver education on various lung health-related topics, and there will also be free local food and a live DJ. In addition to these exciting activities, all participants who complete a survey will be entered into a drawing to win an iPad®.
The Lung Health Experience is an excellent example of the foundation’s dedication to collaboration, uniting clinicians; our nonprofit partners; and integral industry supporters on a common front – to inform the public about these chronic pulmonary issues and create positive change through education and conversation. With the support of our nonprofit and industry partners, the Lung Health Experience has visited Oklahoma City, Nashville, Chicago, and now Toronto in 2017 alone, screening more than 1,000 people. The foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to all those involved in the continuing success of the Lung Health Experience!
To gain a better understanding of the Lung Health Experience and all it will feature, check out our videos from Nashville and Oklahoma City taken earlier this year. We hope to see you in Toronto for the next Lung Health Experience at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, October 28, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Come help us champion lung health!
