iOS

  1. Open the App Store app, and search for the app by entering CHEST – Events.
  2. Press the Free or Install button.

Android

  1. Open the Google Play app, and search for the app by entering the name of the app.
  2. Select Download, and open the app after the download has completed.
  3. Note: The app is developed for Android 4 and higher (older Android versions have very limited disk space and may prompt to delete other apps on the device before installing a new app).

Kindle Fire

  1. Open the browser on the device.
  2. Download the .apk file from the link provided

BlackBerry or Windows Device (including Surface Tablets)

  1. Open the browser on the device.
  2. Navigate to the URL provided by the event organizer.

In addition to the native apps, EventPilot offers a mobile optimized web version as well as an online itinerary planner. Access the online planner.

The online planner is optimized for desktop viewing and allows you to export your personal schedule in the following formats:

  • PDF file for desktop access (or print – please think before you print as your organizer is offering a paperless solution for sustainable practices)
  • CSV file you could open in Excel (the CSV also includes all sessions you starred)
  • ICS file to import into your personal calendar

In your browser, go to iforgot.apple.com and enter your Apple ID. Either answer the security questions or receive a temporary password in your email.

Visit support.apple.com for information on how to find your Apple ID.

Unsupported Device or Operating System Version (OS)
Your specific device (some Android devices are affected) may not be supported, or your version of the OS is not up to date.
Check device and OS version – if not supported, you can use the web version of the app in your mobile browser.

Parental Controls
If you see the app in the app store but you cannot download, check if you may have parental controls turned on. Some apps are set to 17+ because the apps may contain frequent medical images.

Device Language Setting
Hebrew (Android): Because of the right to left formatting of the Hebrew language, Android is not compatible with devices set to Hebrew. Please change to English or use the web app version from your event organizers.

“Already Installed ” Message in Google Play
When you go to the Google Play store (from a web browser) and it shows “already installed” but you can’t find the app on your device / download files / app files:
Go to Applications > Settings > Apps > Google Play > check to make sure it’s set to “enabled” and not “disabled.” Once you enable the Google Play app, the event app should be available on your device.

Slow Internet Connection

If you are not using a high-speed internet connection, please try a different network. The current network connection may be too slow.

If none of the options above work for you, please contact us directly at support@ativsoftware.com, and include the following details:

  1. Device details including make and model
  2. Version of the operating system
  3. Amount of free storage space left
  4. General Wi-Fi Speed (you can use free websites and apps such as “SpeedTest.net by Ookla”)

Ensure to type https://chestmeeting.chestnet.org/webapp in the browser address bar, not the Google search field.

Note: Internet access is required for the web version. Ensure your device is connected to the internet.

Select the More tab and then App Help to see an icon legend for your event.

Visit the details page of the session you’d like to attend (either via your Schedule, Search, or Program). If the room or booth location has been mapped on the floor plan, the map icon displays:

iOS

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Select the conference app.
  4. Change sounds or badge icon to your preferences. You have options to turn sounds off or on, show in lock screen, show in history, or show as banners.

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll to Apps.
  3. Select the conference app.
  4. Disable the Show Notifications option.

To disable Notification sounds on Android:

  1. Access your device’s settings.
  2. Click on Sounds and Vibration.
  3. Click on Volume.
  4. There will be several volume slider controls, including one for notifications. Drag the slider all the way to the left to disable notification sounds.

View all notes by selecting the More tab, and then look for the Notes and Stars tab. Email all your notes and star marked items.

Note: Notes taken using the Sync link will automatically be emailed.

Some events have very large data sets that are received whenever the app has access to the internet. To only use the app with Wi-Fi and not impact your cellular data plan quota, simply apply the following settings:

iOS
Settings App > Cellular > scroll to find the app > set the toggle for using cellular data to OFF. To further avoid using cellular data, ensure to turn off Wi-Fi Assist.

Android
Settings App > Mobile Data > Open the app under Data Usage Stats > set the Background Data toggle to OFF.

Steps to access these settings may vary depending on your OS version.
