PETAL Network: 2020 Progress Report
October 18, 2020 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am CDT
In 2014, NHLBI launched the PETAL Network (Prevention and Early Treatment of Acute Lung Injury) high-impact clinical trials in ARDS through collaboration between critical care and emergency medicine. The Network’s first two trials were completed in 2018. The ROSE trial results were highlighted in our symposium at CHEST 2019, and the VIOLET trial results will be highlighted in this session. In addition, our 2020 Report will provide updates on two actively enrolling trials (CLOVERS and ASTER) and highlight novel ancillary projects exploring disease pathogenesis and new highlights throughout informatics platforms.
- Describe the rationale, operational structure, and goals of the PETAL Network.
- Examination of recently published trial results (VIOLET) by primary study investigators, including implications for current practice and future trial design in patients at risk for ARDS.
